Yet another bicycle post. Last night I FINALLY bitch-slapped life in the face and attended my first Critical Mass 400+ person bike ride. It’s like life was just doing everything to stop me from ever attending. From destroying my bike and breaking my arm last February to making me work on every scheduled CM date since I healed, it seemed Critical Mass would be something I would always be putting off to another month. And this week, the week it seemed that I would finally able to attend, I got bloody sick with the monster allergy attack from hell (maybe karma payback for taking more than my fair share of free pizza at Tuesday’s Pizza & Post?). Luckily I was 93% better by Friday night and it at long last it was ON.
The epic ride began in the heart of Koreatown, into downtown, past Little Tokyo and into East L.A., over one of the bridges above the L.A. river, back to downtown and Koreatown, then all the way to Hollywood & Highland and finishing up at Sunset and Western. WE TOOK OVER STREETS. What a terrific way lead into the final weekend of October and I really hope I can do this again (meaning next month).
Besides that, it was a great October. Lots of editing work coming my way and I am going to be apart of some productions coming up next month that I am VERY excited to be working on. Though I’m not much of a drinker, early in the month, I actually got to drink some special Oktoberfest beers which was great since I’ve always wanted to celebrate it in some form.
And the best thing that was better than everything in my life this month was totally seeing The Drums. KICK ASS SHOW and one of my favorites of the year (and rivaling last October’s Matt & Kim epicness).
So now Halloween is coming (with a Captain Ahab show) and I really hope I see someone dressed as Zombie Steve Jobs.
Once that is done and finished, the death of 2011 begins with November kicking off. Things happening: The Monolators & Shonen Knife performing on the 1st and then my birthday looms. All I want this year is the Harry Potter film set and the bear backpack from Yosemite this year (can be ordered online!).
